Double tap an image in a post and the high resolution version of the image will pop up over a darkened background.
Edit - seems to work intermittently on single tap now. :/
Not sure if I’m late to the party on this one or if it was announced but I found out accidentally so there you go.

I did actually, walking around Brooklyn in October. This is the only one i had on my phone but there’s a couple more of that car if you look back in my posts a bit.

Not really a bug - that’s what it’s supposed to do. Still, I can see how it can get annoying - I’ll send some feedback to the team on your behalf.
As for a place to check - we’re making so many rapid design and quality changes recently that it’s hard to keep an up to date userfacing changelog - still, we’re trying to come up with something similar soon enough.

Yeah, I figured it wasn’t a bug, it was a feature that was missing in my eyes for a while. The image popping up on a single (sometimes accidental) tap on the image is indeed a bit annoying. Better to bring up the enlarge and star UI elements on the first tap and then to use the relevant icon to bring up the full image, I think.
Also, I just had Chrome crash when I tapped the image on this post (first gen Moto G, browser is up to date AFAIK).
